Gittleson Shrug

Description

This exercise is an advanced variation of the dumbbell shrug used to build bigger trapezius muscles. This emphasizes the overall contraction of the trapezius muscle by isolating the muscle and working them unilaterally resulting to a stronger and bigger muscle.

Benefits

  • Training the trapezius muscles unilaterally will help address muscle imbalances between both sides.
  • This exercise is also great for improving the strength and size of the individual trapezius muscle.

Risks

  • This exercise can injure the lower back and the neck if not properly executed.
  • This exercise can also injure the shoulders if not properly executed.
  • Proper resistance progression is advised to avoid injuries.
